Welcome Readers!
Welcome to my bandwidth! I'm Bart Stewart, and this site deals mainly
with my book Tales of Real and Dream Worlds. First printed in 2006, this collection of my short stories won a Finalist prize at the 2008 National Indie Excellence Awards. In these pages you will discover new surreal fantasy fiction in the tradition of H.G. Wells, Rod Serling, and Richard Matheson. These nine stories are written to entertain and intrigue, with no worn out clichés of the supernatural. Click the button "Critics Rave" while you're here. Hit the Fiction link to read excerpts.
My non-fiction articles are from the heart, and deal with issues that effect your life. I'll have more coming in soon, so check back with me. This is a reading-intensive site, not a sprawl of animations and flashy graphics. You can find that stuff anywhere. So read on, and tell your friends about me! Tales is my first book, but I have a new literary novel ready to go, as well as a new short story and a feature-length screenplay of The Statuary Cats!

The surreal, the unreal, and the all-too-real intertwine in Tales of Real
and Dream Worlds. Scenarios range from a family’s entanglement in the 1938 War of the Worlds radio hoax to an otherworldly day in the life of a honey bee. From the menace of The Statuary Cats to the poignant fate of the Brickworker, the emphasis here is on imagination of concept, skillfully executed. (So say the reviews!) Then we have The Jingle, a commercial ditty you will not be able to put out of your head. Ever. This is fiction that stimulates the mind. There are some dark passages, but only rare moments of violent imagery. This title is suitable for mature teenagers on up to advanced geriatrics. Check out the Critics' section for numerous reviews!
